Summer Vacation

When you're a teacher, summer vacation is fabulous! You get lots of time off, so we took advantage of it this year. We were scheduled to depart July 18th for a reunion with Laurel's immediate family, but our apartment wasn't ready until the 20th. So we moved our stuff in with a U-Haul and got right back in the car (before unpacking!) to spend almost a week out at the California vacation house Laurel used to play at every summer growing up. Only now all the in-laws and grandkids were there too. We camped in a tent and went waterskiing and swimming every day. A few days after that was over, we flew to visit Ben's family in Indiana. That's where we are now. We are mostly staying indoors and out of the humidity. The girls are loving getting to know better their aunts and uncles who live in this area. Ben and I are happy to be relaxing and have no deadlines or packing. We'll sure have a lot to do when we finally get back home!
