Ben and I took some time away from the kids last week. We left them with Nana and drove from Indiana to Chicago for a few days. Why Chicago? To see this musical:
It's about the Wicked Witch of the West (and Glinda the Good Witch of the North). It was well done and the music is excellent! I also like the themes of friendship and loyalty, and of speaking out against prejudice and intolerance.
We also went to a couple of museums and were happy to spend hours looking at art with no whiny, hungry, tired kids hindering us. We ate fabulous food, went to the beach, and saw fireworks over Lake Michigan.
We were very happy to see the girls again, but I am also looking forward to more getaways in the future.

Yea for you two! I'm glad you had the chance to get away. It's always needed & well worth it, I think.
