Chef Extraordinaire
We were playing outside a little too late this evening (enjoying some warmish weather) and the kids were hungry. My poor daughters kept saying "Mom, can we have dinner now?" I kept putting them off because I had to change the baby, send a quick email, and hadn't even decided yet what to make for dinner. Then, Emily (4 yrs old) said "I'll make the dinner." Scoffing a little, I asked, "What will you make for dinner?" Eggs. Then the genius of the idea set in. Ben and I weren't hungry because we had gone out for a late lunch after his class got out. I only needed to minimally supervise and make her do as much as possible herself. She chose the entire menu: hard-boiled eggs, grapes, ramen noodles, and toast spread with peanut butter. All three girls thought it was delicious, and Emily really did do almost everything. Becca can't wait until the night it will be her turn.
