Here is one of my goals for this year: overcome my fear of gardening. I was successful once with a windowsill pot of basil, but never could get any of my vegetables to bear fruit! So now I am making an attempt at a vegetable garden, and I am determined to succeed. I made sure to purchase some of my plants at the store (rather than starting from seed; see the 'before' photo). I also poured money into compost and plant food, because I think in the past my soil was too sandy and short on nutrients. You can see that, a month and a half later, I am enjoying my garden! We are growing green beans, bell pepper and tomatoes (foreground), and zucchini, lettuce and green onion (background). Nearly all of my plants have blossoms or fruit forming. Hooray for me!

Yay, for you! I have yet to conquer that task!
Good for you! I'm glad to see you're overcoming your fear. Once you start getting produce, you'll love it and will want to do it every year!
Where do you guys have a garden...that's pretty sweet. Home grown veggies are the best :o) Good luck.
Congratulations on getting it to grow! We started a garden this year too. The first thing we had to do was "clear our land" We had 6 foot tall weeds completely filling the side yard. After 12 hours of hard work, we were ready to start. We also got some good soil and plants, and we planted them. Now we just water them every once and a while and they just GROW...it's so weird!
Not fair! My garden gave me a whole lotta nothin this summer. Congratulations!
