So much for good intentions

We have had a crazy weekend here. Becca caught a cold a little over a week ago, then recovered a few days later. Then this past Saturday, Emily caught it too. We found out that it is RSV, so we are keeping a close watch on her (being so young, she is susceptible to breathing problems with this illness). She gets really irritated and upset when she coughs, and started running a fever Sunday night. Right now she simply does not want to be put down. Thank goodness we have that front pack carrier! With the extra attention Emily needs, I find that Becca is watching a huge amount of TV. She has long favored the movie "Shrek," and now that she recently learned to work the VCR by herself, we have also seen "Pollyanna" over and over again. Ben and Laurel have been (and still are) the kind of parents that wish to "do it right" by limiting TV and instead offering books and stimulating activities. Oh, well. With the 'zombie machine' we are surviving this temporary difficulty, and setting ourselves up for a difficult weaning process.
