St Pat's Day





















This Irish Soda Bread was my attempt at being festive for St. Patrick's Day. I am a corned beef and cabbage girl through and through, but this year I didn't plan well enough in advance. Still, the girls loved putting the food coloring into the bread dough. We also made green milk!

so we did the old corned beef & cabbage dealio for the 4th year in a row now (had to after the being intro'd to your awesome tradition in '06). it turned out like ususal, except something strange has occured: i couldn't eat it! i tried. oh i tried. but i wound up sick all night. the smell. i dunno. perhaps since i've changed my diet i can't hack it anymore. made me sad. i literally cried over not getting to ENJOY corned beef & cabbage (i know i sound so pitiful). i'm wondering which spices are in the mix or what's in the brine. but anyways, that's my st. patty's day fail. =(
we thought about you all the entire day though. are you home yet?
