At the very end of May, we went to Utah for a family wedding. Only we left almost a week before the wedding so that we could have some family fun time! We stayed with Laurel's uncle and aunt Clyde and Julia, and spent Memorial Day with them. We went waterskiing on Utah Lake and had a barbecue. It truly felt like the beginning of summer. Throughout the week, we went here and there, showing Becca the animal displays at Cabela's outdoor store, getting a babysitter and going to dinner and a movie with Laurel's cousin and sister, doing some more waterskiing, and some indoor rockclimbing. The wedding was wonderful, and so much family was there. Becca is now old enough to understand that these people are important in her life, and she formed a special bond with a couple of her cousins.

As for other highlights of the month, we kept it pretty quiet. We took Becca on the carousel here in town. She seemed so grown up sitting on the horse! We also got her 'one-year-old' pictures taken, even though she was 14 months at the time. Several times, Ben took a half day at work and we walked to a park or to downtown. He played a little soccer with the university's intramural program, as he does every year. He also came down with the flu and passed it on to Becca.
That wasn't something we expected at this time of year!
